papercuts and bridges

aren't papercuts such strange things? how can a flimsy piece of paper which can be torn so easily create such a tear in one's flesh? maybe we're flimsier and more fragile than paper.

last night, i did get that "surprise" visit and they actually played bridge for like 3 or 4 hours?? i know because that's how long i was talking to mervin in my room haha. such an anti-social host, right? what to do! the 4-hr time difference is not as small as it seems and it's been 2 weeks since we really spoke properly. can't wait can't wait!! don't trick me ar! if not i don't friend you!

but i enjoyed listening to the laughter and silly comments ensuing from the bridge club in the hall, which made the otherwise quiet house that bit more lively. and it was nice seeing my guitar being put to use when glen serenaded us with a mandarin song. i thought it was really funny because i translated the song pretty opposite from what it actually meant. "i don't just want to be your friend" turned into "i only want to be your friend," and i said it with such smugness even haha.

i thought this picture was quite nice, and silly. glen was playing the guitar and mansi asked me to take out my camera and take a shot. i put on the self-timer and ran to that position in the picture and glen suddenly stopped playing, prob got shocked, and i was signaling him to play and mansi was wondering what was going on and the flash went off.

just like that, one school week has passed. 5 more to go. still, there's an ache in my heart. i don't know why. guess it comes with the package.
