system of a down's "chop suey" is setting up sound waves around me now. self-righteous suicide?
anyway, as we were cycling just now, my brothers and i, we found ourselves at the jetty. and that's where, my brother, pravin, told me all about the ships. not everything, but it was interesting. my dad's shouting like a lunatic now. soccer. anyway, he was telling me about the reason why ships have these red lines on them. the red lines should be completely submerged in the water or they'll have to pay. it's an indication of whether they've got sufficient fuel or not. then singapore gets to make money. and my brother was explaining to me about the ships propellers and how they work, and what would happen if they didn't work that way. he was also telling me how the ships are facing one direction even as i blog now but will be facing a completely new direction in the morning even though they are anchored. then we got down to talking about container vessels and how it's common for containers to fall into the sea and how at least $18 million worth of goods get lost, a year or a day, i'm not sure. i was thinking of making a business out of it, when he recalled my memory of this documentary we'd watch on tv before. there are these people called the scavengers, though they're professionals, who mark out these shipping routes, and using computers and what-not, figure out where these containers fall and have their means of retrieving them. and they're making big money. so much for my dreams.
and as we watched the remains of the sun disappearing behind the skyline, he told me about this new airplane which would enable people to travel from say, singapore to new york in just half an hour. how? by flying right out into space, hovering around somewhere, and wait, making use of the earth's rotation, since the earth does spin rather fast. kinda revolutionary, really. would it actually work?
yes, i was at east coast, cycling just now. for some strange reason, we kept seeing strange-looking dogs behaving rather strangely. dogs are really lovable creatures. lovable because they can be soooo silly. oh they drive me mad.
